Google Workspace Tools
Connect Google OAuth and let agents use Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Tasks, and Contacts tools.
Google Workspace tools let the agent work with Google services after you connect OAuth credentials. The app exposes these capabilities through MCP tools, filtered by the scopes you grant.
Connect Google
- Open Settings
- Go to the connector or MCP area for Google services
- Start the Google OAuth flow
- Sign in with the Google account you want the agent to use
- Review requested scopes
- Approve only the permissions you need
If you deny a scope, tools that require that scope will not be available.
Available Tool Areas
When connected, Google services can expose tools for:
| Service | Agent Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Gmail | Search, read, draft, send, label, and manage messages |
| Calendar | List events, create events, update schedules |
| Drive | Search files, upload, download, and organize documents |
| Docs | Read or update documents when permissions allow |
| Sheets | Read and write spreadsheet data |
| Slides | Create or update presentation content |
| Meet | Help schedule or manage meeting links |
| Tasks | Create and manage task lists |
| Contacts | Search contact information |
Exact tool availability depends on current app configuration and granted scopes.
Use Google Tools in a Task
Write requests that name the target service and outcome:
- "Search Gmail for customer replies about the launch delay and summarize blockers."
- "Create a Calendar hold for the design review next Thursday afternoon."
- "Find the latest Drive brief for the campaign and draft a task plan."
- "Update the launch checklist Sheet with the completed media items."
For sensitive actions such as sending email or modifying shared documents, use approvals or ask the agent to draft first.
Security Guidance
- Use the least-permissive OAuth scopes that still support your workflow
- Connect a work account only when the workspace is appropriate for work data
- Review generated email or document edits before sending or applying them
- Revoke Google credentials from Settings when a workspace no longer needs them
- Avoid attaching private Google files to channels where the audience should not see them
Troubleshooting
- If a Google tool is missing, reconnect with the required scope
- If a request fails with permission denied, verify file sharing and OAuth access
- If search results are stale, ask the agent to rerun the search
- If a token expires, reconnect the Google account
- If the wrong account is connected, revoke it and run the OAuth flow again
